Event Description

Is there a hero more sexy, influential and attractive than Jane Austen's Mr Darcy? What makes us love him? Is it because he rarely opens his mouth, is it his magnificent home, his rescue of Elizabeth's family, or simply the contrast between him and the other men in the novel?

In Mr Darcy and the men of 'Pride and Prejudice', Susannah Fullerton explores masculinity in the novel in the persons of Mr Collins, Mr Bennet, Mr Wickham and Mr Bingley, and will analyse the powerful attractiveness of Mr Darcy.

Susannah Fullerton OAM is a literary lecturer, author, tour guide leader and President of the Jane Austen Society of Australia.
