"Book lovers never go to bed alone"

This is a very interesting book about the history of salt and covers its history from the earliest times to the modern day. Historians have found evidence that as early as 8000 years ago salt was mined in northern China." Worth ones salt" originated with the Romans, who paid their soldiers an allowance of salt. Salt has caused wars, the taxes collected from salt has enabled countries to finance huge structures such as the building of the great wall of China and the building of the Pyramids. Ancient Egypt had a lucrative trade in the export of salt fish and meat. Today, salt has lost its great economic and political significance simply because it is no longer scarce. I do hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

wow, sounds interesting!. I have heard alot of people saying this is a really good read, well written. It is rare for a non-fiction book to get this much all-round praise...
I was suprised, because a book named "cod" or "salt", well you'd think it would be hard to get a whole book on the subject, let alone everyone saying they enjoyed them so much.
will add this to my to-read list, sounds like its "worth its salt"!

This fabulous prequel to the Black Magician Trilogy is set hundreds of years before the events of the first books. It could be read on its own but I think it would be better to read the trilogy first. One of the main mysteries from the trilogy is…

I really liked this series too! I thought they were borderline romancey, but still excellent. The internal struggle that Wen was dealing with throughout the book was depicted magnificently. Will there be another one - That is the question! Has anyon…
