I really enjoyed you blog post. I love Irish writers. My favourite at the moment is Sebastian Barry and I enjoyed Colm Toibin's Brooklyn last year.

Would also recommend the books by the explorers Giles, Eyre & Sturt... and anything to do with cameleering, like 'Crossing the Dead Heart' by C.T. Madigan, 'The Red Centre' by H.H. Finlayson and 'Camels and The Outback' by H.M. Barker.
