The Twelfth Enchantment by David Liss

 David Liss won the Edgar Award for best first novel, "A Conspiracy of Paper".  This is his seventh book,and the first of his I've read.  I found it to be a cross between Harry Potter and Georgette Heyer, ie. the regency world mixed with a lot of magic.  Well written but not to my taste.See More

The Soldier's Wife by Joanna Trollope

An enlightening story about the intricacies of life within the defence force, and how what we do is a choice, and affects so many others.  It wasn't a 'couldn't put down' book, nor was it 'happily ever after'.But it was enjoyable, relaxing, and left me feeling thankful for my lot in life.See More
